Sylvia Elizabeth Shakeford Allen

To live in a foreign country must be exciting! Sylvia with her husband Capt. Allen and son, Freddie Jr. had the experience of living in Italy for one year. While there they had the opportunity of visiting Switzerland, France, and England. Sylvia's travels started almost from the day she was born, April 3rd in Prince William County, Virginia, as her family moved to Washington, D. C. Soon afterwards she attended Dunbar High School in Washington and then went to Austin, Texas to Fitchburg Teachers College. Before she had a chance to teach, she married Capt. Fred Allen on October 11, 1941. Sylvia likes to take time out to sew, play pinochle, hike, and swim.

Alice Olivera Rowe Arrington

You don't have to worry about keeping the old conversational ball rolling when you're talking with Alice! Alice, who was born on May 7 in Warrenton, Virginia, keeps you in stitches as she relates the antics of her two lively youngsters, Alan Jr., four years, and Sandra, two years. A graduate of the George Washington High School in Warrenton, Alice worked as a telephone operator at an Army Post before her marriage to Lt. Walter Alan Arrington on March 7, 1942. If she found time, Alice could probably give you some good pointers on sewing or crocheting, her hobbies. At pinochle she is excellent.
