Mabel Jean Dawson Woods

Mabel is the wife of Capt. Carrol S. Woods whom she married on April 28, 1946. Mabel graduated from Alabama State Teachers' College in Montgomery, Ala., having majored in elementary education. After teaching one year in Henry County, Halesburg, Ala., Mabel went to Tuskegee where she did clerical work for two years. Born on Oct. 26th, Mabel likes to play bridge or bowl. Sewing is her hobby.

Nancy Rebecca Zimmerman

Nancy, our chairman of Activities, has had a very interesting life. Born on May 5th, she thoroughly enjoys all handicrafts, reading, travelling, and football games. At the School of Design for Women, Nancy received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree which qualified her for a position as instructor in a School for Exceptional Children in Philadelphia, her home town. Later she worked for eight years as Relief Investigator for the Department of Public Assistance in Phila. A new phase of her life began on June 11, 1938 where she married Edgar P. Zimmerman, present director of Red Cross here at Lockbourne. Nancy is an ardent bridge fan. Spending most of their vacations travelling, Nancy and Edgar have visited nearly every state of the Union.
