A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

A keg of TNT is potentially capable of doing a lot of damage. It can also
do a tremendous amount of good if its
power is used toward the accomplishment
of some project to benefit man. Until
a fuse is applied and lit, this keg of
TNT will remain no more than a potential source of power.

The above paragraph is statement
of a fact which is analogous to the
Officers Wives Club of LAAB. Through
the action of the club and the energy
of its members, the seemingly impenetrable wall that stands between good fellowship and the members of the Officers Club could be blasted out of
existence. Suppose we analyze this
statement and attempt to apply a
constructive blast to this wall.

The Officer's families living on
the base at present comprise a large
number of the total strength of Officer
personnel. The Bachelor Officers live
in the BOQ's and a large number of Officers living off base have automobiles. In order to bring all families together and share a common spirit, a plan must be devised to focus all eyes on a single target. The target being Club activities. The target must be seen by all, and the firing directed.

A good way to start out would be to
bring the officers and wives together. Invite the officers to a meeting of the
OWL club. Discuss plans for entertainment, letting the Wives take the lead in the production and the officers rendering any assistance. A meeting of this type would thrash out any doubt as to the attitudes of different people. It would build up a spirit of cooperation among the officers and wives and restore the Esprit de Corps.

The next step is to familiarize
all persons with the importance of knowing and understanding each other. To point out the need for coming together and sharing in the welfare of the Base.

There is no sense in being distant. Dissimulation in youth is the forerunner of perfidy in old age. It degrades parts and learning, obscures the luster of every accomplishment and sinks us into contempt. It is often humble, grave, polished or decorous but is rarely gay and jovial. Have you noticed the remoteness in the club lately,

A large number of officers are

PHYSIOTHERAPY

We have noticed quite a number of
Officers and Enlisted Men moved their
families to the Base. Quite a hustle
and bustle for the housewife and mother. At the end of the day you are extremely tired, maybe overtaxed your nerves by using the excess energy required. Probably you can't rest at night for that dull backache or pains in the P.R., or excess fat which leaves you feeling tired and worn.

You wonder what to do, well Physiotherapy is the answer. It increases the circulation of the skin, circulation of the blood and lymph in deeper tissues.

There are five types of treatment in the Physiotherapy department employed
in the treatment of diseases:
[[underline]] Electrotherapy [[/underline]] - which elevates in carrying away waste products by increased elimination.
[[underline]] Hydrotherapy [[/underline]] - which increases the nutritional process, also has a tendency to relieve pain by relieving nerve sensibility and relaxing spasms.
[[underline]] Massage [[/underline]] -
which is a scientific manipulation of
muscles and other tissues. It is
soothing and stimulating. The slow,
gentle rhythmic massage is sedative in
its effect while vigorous massage is
stimulating.
[[underline]] Thermatherapy [[/underline]] - which is used for skin trouble. For acne and other skin diseases, consult your medical officer then hurry to physio.
