SOCIAL NOTES

Miss Evelyn J. Watson of Frankfort Kentucky is visiting Mrs. Bernice Watson for an indefinite period.

Lt. and Mrs. Daniel James entertained twenty guests on August 2 in honor of Mrs. L. Elam of Tuskegee, Alabama.

Major and Mrs. W. A. Campbell spent a short vacation in Tuskegee, Alabama.

Mrs. Jane Jones spent a week in Institute, West Virginia visiting her father who is ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Allan L. Lane from Demopolis, Alabama spent a week with Lt. and Mrs. A. L. Lane.

Major and Mrs. Griffin entertained Miss Mary Allen from Washington, D. C. for several days.

Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Manuel of Los Angeles, California are visiting their niece, Mrs. Lucille S. Williams.

During the past week, Capt and Mrs. H. L. Jones have had as their houseguest, Mrs. Laura J. Bradfield of Charleston, West Virginia. Mrs. Bradfield is the sister of Mrs. Jones.

Mrs. Ruth Coleman was pleasantly surprised when her father, Mr. Smith Pierce, visited her several days ago.

Mrs. Shirley Taylor has had as her houseguest for the past week, Mrs. Alice Williams of Chicago, Ill.

Major and Mrs. Gleed have been enjoying the visit of Mrs. Earl Graves of Horton, Kansas. Mrs. Graves is the mother of Mrs. Gleed. We hope that her stay at Lockbourne has been a pleasant one.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood and family of Poughkeepsie, New York were houseguests of Major and Mrs. George Knox during the month of August.

BIRTHDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Little Miss Sylvia McCreary, daughter of Capt. and Mrs. Walter McCreary, celebrated her third birthday August 5th. The party took place in the recreation hall of the Officers' Mess. Many beautiful gifts were brought and an enjoyable time was had by all.

Another birthday celebrated in the month of August was that of Master Samuel Taylor, son of Capt. and Mrs. Ulysses Taylor. Samuel, along with the other guests present, enjoyed his third birthday party which was held in the shade by the swimming pool.

BIRTHS

We are happy over the appearance of the new infant, Gwendolyn Barrington McDaniels, daughter of Major and Mrs. Armour McDaniels.

DEATHS

We are sorry to hear of the death of the brother of Mrs. George Webb.

BINGO PARTY

Mrs. Pauline Punch entertained her mother and sister, Mrs. J. M. Wall and Mrs. H. E. Doley, with a bingo party on Monday August 18. A daintily prepared tuna fish salad course was served which was delectable.

There were sixteen persons playing bingo, including Miss Evelyn Watson of Frankfort, Kentucky; Miss Gloria Greene of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Miles of Omaha, Nebraska.

Each of the honored guests received a prize.

Mrs. Percy L. Jones is visiting her husband at Lockbourne Army Air Base. We hope that her vacation will be a pleasant one.
