ANNIVERSARY OF WOMAN SUFFERAGE

August 26 will forever be a memorable occasion to most people and to the  women of America in particular. It 
was on this date exactly twenty-seven years ago that the 19th Amendment, adopted by the Sixty-Sixth Congress, 
was ratified by three-fourths of the whole number of states, and made a part  of the Constitution of the United States. 

During this brief period, women of America have been well represented in all walks of life. As a tribute to the occasion, we pay homage to womanhood of America, and a special salute to women of our own race who have made 
contributions as follows:

COMMITTEE REPORTS

[[underline]]Athletic Committee[[/underline]]

The Bowling Alley is now open each Friday afternoon from 1300 hours to 1700 hours. Those of you who are interested will this afternoon session less crowded than at nights, thereby giving you a good opportunity to get a lot of practice while learning or improving your game.

The Officers' Wives have started a bowling team. Those of you who are interested in joining please contact Bernice Watson (phone 387) for details.

Don't forget the Officers' Wives Club bowling session each Monday at 1400 hours. 

[[underline]]Social Committee[[/underline]]

The Officers' Wives Club sponsored  a party on Saturday, August 16th, at the Officers' Club. Punch, cake, candy and peanuts were served.

Everyone seemed to have enjoyed himself. Several officers suggested that we should do this more often!!

[[underline]]Charity Committee[[/underline]]

Greetings from the Charity Committee of the Officers' Wives Club, LAAB.

As you know, the purpose of this committee is to bring joy and happiness to this and other communities.

We have been assigned the very pleasant duty of buying gifts for the "Bundles from Heaven" who are making 
their advent into our club.
Up to date we have given silver drinking cups to four newcomers:
