THE NURSERY

On Monday, November 3 at 1:00 p. m. a dream of long standing became a reality.

The Lockbourne Air Base Nursery was opened. Many long hours of hard work and planning on the part of the faithful Nursery Committee were reciprocated by the radiant faces of the little folks for whom this great project had been undertaken and carried successfully to its completion.

Those availing themselves of this opportunity to learn to work and play together on the opening day were: Barbara Ann and Harold Beaulieu, Kay Carter, Ruth Coleman, Jimmy Hurd, Dicky Harrison, Micheal Jamison, Brenda Manning, Joy Marchbanks and Russell Marshall.

NURSERY HOLDS OPEN HOUSE
The Lockbourne Army Air Base Nursery held its Open House on Sunday, October 26, 1947 from 2 to 4 p. m. The large group which attended were amazed by the simplicity, cheerfulness, completeness and fine taste that combined to make the Nursery an ideal place for the children.

Various educational toys, books, records, etc. were on display and nursery rhymes with pictures adorned the walls.

Refreshments which carried out the color scheme of green and yellow were served to everyone.

The Nursery offers much to the many children of Lockbourne personnel and is eagerly awaiting the day when each green chair will seat a little pupil.

Pies of pumpkin, apple, mince--
Jams and jellies, peaches quince
Purple grapes and apples red,
Cakes and nuts and gingerbread
THAT'S THANKSGIVING!

Turkey, oh a great big fellow
Fruits all ripe and rich and mellow
Everything that's nice to eat
More than I can now repeat
FOR THANKSGIVING!

Lots and lots of jolly fun,
Games to play and races run
All is happy as can be--
For this happiness you see
IS THANKSGIVING

Oh, Give thanks unto the Lord; for He is Good--for His Mercy endureth forever!!
