At 0850, Colonel Davis called General Strother and in his absence talked with Colonel Mooney and Colonel West stating the various problems in connection with immediate transfer of individuals from the station. Colonel Davis stated no definite standby mission had been received nor have instructions for disposition of property been received. Colonel Davis also informed these officers that approximately 50 pilots are attached to the station for flying while they are attending Ohio State University, that a National Guard unit is based at Lockbourne, that the Hospital, Post Exchange and Commissary are serving the surrounding area, and of a commitment for furnishing officers and Airmen for the Air ROTC Summer Encampment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Neither Colonel West nor Colonel Mooney could give answers to the questions raised by the presence of the activities mentioned, but they did agree to make an attempt to look into the matters.
