Mr. Homer E. Frye, General Manager
Better Business Bureau
193 East Broad Street
Columbus, Ohio

Dear Mr. Frye:

Recent announcements concerning the reassignment of officers and airmen assigned to the 332d Fighter Wing have apparently caused concern among various merchants in the Columbus community. A number of these merchants have written to this office, expressing the fear that accounts now held with Lockbourne personnel may not be satisfactorily concluded in view of the pending general reassignment of these personnel.

It is of particular concern to me, as the Commanding Officer of Lockbourne, that the harmonious public relations which have existed between the base and the community of Columbus be continued as long as my organization is based here. Therefore, I wish to express to you, and to your membership, my feeling in this regard.

It is my considered opinion that the number of "bad accounts" brought to light in the course of reassigning Lockbourne personnel will not exceed the normal expectancy of such accounts, were there to be no change of tenants at Lockbourne. My office, none the less, will take all reasonable steps to insure against such an eventuality.

Additionally, I may add that personnel who are ordered to other stations from Lockbourne, may be located upon request, by name and serial number, through the office of the Air Adjutant General in Washington, D.C.

Should your office or any of your interested members feel our assistance or advice to be desirable in the future, please call upon us without hesitation.

Sincerely,

/s/ B.O. Davis, Jr.
