Here, for the first time, is the picture record of Negro integration in the services since President Truman's historic Executive Order. This is the story of progress made and what has to be done.

OUR WORLD EXPRESSES ITS INDEBTEDNESS: to the Department of Defense and to the officers and enlisted men and women of our Armed Forces for their help in the preparation of this story. To them, on the occasion of Armed Forces Day, May 20, this account of their achievement in the service of our country, is dedicated.
