GROVER C. BROWN, Colonel, USAF, 4144A

Grover was born 28 Dec. 1912. Fayette, Miss. was his home and still is his permanent address. He first attended the Univ. of Miss., then the Univ. of Texas, graduating in 1935. After working in Miss. for several years, he entered the Air Corp in June 1939 as a Flying Cadet and received his wings in March 1940. He was assigned for a short time to Maxwell Fld, Ala., then to the first twin-engine adv. school at Barksdale Fld., La. in Aug. 1940. He served as instructor, Tr. Sq. CO., and Asst. Sch. Officer until Dec. 1941. He transferred from Command to help prepare Barksdale for combat units, flew with B-24 and B-26 Groups, and moved to England in Sept. 1942 as Asst. Opns. Officer, 4th Bomb Wg. (M). He was transferred from 4th to 3rd Wing, later the 9th Bomb Div., and served as Wing and Div. Staff Officer, and Deputy GP. CO., 322 Bomb Gp. (M) until Oct. 1943; Base & Gtp CO, 322 Bomb Grp. (M) until Jan 1944; Chief of Staff, 98th Combat Bomb Wg. (M) until July 1944; Base & Gp. CO, 387th Bomb Gp(M) until May 1945. His stations were in East Anglia and Southern England until Aug. 1944, and in France and Holland from Aug. 1944 to May 1945. He returned to the U.S. and served for 3 years in Hq. USAF, as Deputy and Div. Chief of the Policy Div., Dir. Int., DCS/O. He attended the AWC 1948-1949 and is currently a member of the P&O Div. of the AWC faculty. Golf is naturally his current hobby, shared by his wife, Marguerite, who is from Shreveport, La. Children are Byron (age 3), and Keri (age 1).

FLINT GARRISON, JR., Colonel, USAF, 502-A

Born 25 May 1905 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri where he "finished" in May 1927. He enlisted as a flying cadet at Brooks Field in February 1928 and graduated from Kelly Field in February 1929 and received a regular commission in September 1929. His first station was Selfridge Field where he was assigned to the First Pursuit Group. He is a graduate of the Engineering Maintenance Course at Chanute Field, the Air Corps Tactical School and the Air  War College at Maxwell Field. In June 1942 he went to Egypt to instruct the 14th Squadron RAF on Martin B-26 Magruders. He returned to the USA in November 1942 and that same month was given command of the 320th Bomb Group and took them to North Africa. He returned to the United States in September 1944 and was Deputy and then Commanding Officer of Barksdale Field. In 1946 he was assigned as Chief of Staff of the 11th Air Force in Harrisburg, Pa. and remained there until he was assigned to the Air War College as a student. His wife, Isobel (Skinny) is from Brantford, Ontario, Canada. There are three children: Pete (17), Suzanne (14), and Paulette (4 1/2).
