Depot at Kelly Field, and then at Guam Air Depot. After the war he attended Ohio State University for 16 months, studying nuclear physics. Then came two years in the Research and Development section of the AF Field Office for Atomic Energy, thence to the AWC. Proposed assignment is back to the R&D business at Abuquerque, New Mexico; though the name has been changed in the meantime to the AF Special Weapons Command. His wife, Marian, is from Ft. Worth, Texas. Children are Lawrence (age 15), and Kenneth (age 11).

WILLIAM T. HUDNELL, COLNEL, USAF, 1171A

"Bill" Hudnell was born in Aurora, North Carolina, 28 November 1908. From 1911, he was raised in Washington, North Carolina, where he graduated from Washington High School in 1927. He entered University of North Carolina the same year, expecting to graduate as a doctor. After frequent exposure to flying, he gave up the doctoring business in January 1931 and enlisted in the Air Corps. Graduating from the Pursuit Course at Kelly Field in June 1933, he was assigned to the 8th Pursuit Course, Langley Field. Later he served in the First Pursuit Group at Selfridge, 25th Fighter Group at Langley and Mitchel. During World War II, he served as A-4 (Materiel) of the 7th Fighter Wing, 1st Air Support Command, 1st Fighter Command, and 5th Air Force, Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, Administration, and Materiel in Hq FEAF, CO of the 59th and 64th Air Service Groups in Leyte and Luson, Philipine Islands, and finally Chief of Staff, 5th AF, during the closing days of the war. While pursuing logistics around SWPA, he managed to squeeze in some 35 fighter and bomber missions and shoot down 1 Jap "George." Since returning to the US, he has served as Chief of the Materiel Branch, Requirements Division, Hq, USAF, and most recently as CO 56th Fighter Wing, Selfridge. Upon completion of school, he will go to the Office of DCS/Materiel, Hq, USAF, where he is slated for logistics planning work.
His wife, Virginia, is originally from Champaign, Illinois, where she graduated from the University of Illinois Law School Just before becoming "Mrs. W. T. Hudnell" in July 1937. She is a Kappa Kappa Gamma and Bill is a Sigma Nu. While at Maxwell, Virginia has served as vice president and co-chairman of the Program Committee of the Woman's Club. They have two children: "Gini," born in Panama in 1938, and "Billy," born in Detroit in 1947. While serving in the Pentagon, the Hudnells will make their home at 2310 No. George Mason Dr., Arlington, Virginia.

AFRED L. HUTCHESON, COLONEL, USAF, AO-298357

"Hutch" was born April 24, 1910, and calls Richmond, Virginia his home. He attended Georgia Tech and went on duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps as an officer in 1933. After 4 1/2 years of CCC duty he attended the Infantry School, NG and RO Course. In September 1940 he went on active duty with the Air Force at Mac Dill Field, Fla., serving as assistant and then Base Supply Officer for the 62nd. Sub-
