NOEL A. MENARD, LT. COLONEL, USA, 0-20835

Menard was born on 11 December 1912, Kankakee, Illinois. He graduated from the USMA in 1937 and was commissioned in the Infantry and went directly to the Philippines from West Point. While in the Philippines, he took a detail in the Chemical Warfare Service and came back states side to Edgewood Arsenal and the Chemical Warfare school. At the beginning of the war he went to Egypt as a member of the United States North African Mission. He left the mission to attend the British Middle East Staff College at Huifa, Palestine, and then became G-2 of U. S. Army Forces in the Middle East with headquarters at Cairo, Egypt. Upon return to the states from the Middle East he requested return to the Infantry and then commanded an Infantry Battalion of the Yankee Division in the European Theater. When the war ended he remained with the Occupation forces in Europe with station in Vienna, Austria. From Vienna to the Pentagon (Research and Development) and then to the Air War College. His proposed assignment is Army Field Force Board No. 3, Fort Benning. His wife, Vivian, is from Bellevue, Iowa. Children are Laura and Deborah, twin sisters, (age 4).

WILLIAM W. MOMYER, COLONEL, USAF, 1964A

"Spike" was born 23 Sept 1916, and hails from Seattle, Wash. He attended the U. of Wash., graduating therefrom in 1937. Upon graduation, he entered the Air Corps receiving his wings in 1939. His first assignment was with the 8th Pursuit Group, Langley Field, Va. In 1941 he was detailed as Assistant Military Attache, Cairo, Egypt. Upon return in Dec. 1941, he was designated CO of the 58th Fighter Squadron of the 33rd Ft Gp overseas making the initial landing in North Africa. He remained as CO of the 33rd Ft Hp until returning to the ZI in 1944 after completing 100 combat missions. Upon return to the ZI, he was designated Executive Officer of the AF Board, Orlando, Fla. In late 1944, he was assigned to Fast Carrier Task Force 58 to observe carrier operations in the Pacific. Returning from this assingment, he again reported to the AF Board and dissolved that organization in July 1946, whereupon he was transferred to the Tactical Air Command, Langley Field, Va., as DCS/Plans. He remained in that assignment until reporting to the AWC. His proposed assignment is the Staff and Faculty of the AWC. "Spike's" hobbies are golf and reading. Marguerite (Patsy) his wife is from Salt Lake City, Utah. Children are Jean (14).

FRANCIS H. MONAHAN, COLONEL, USAF, 1030A

"Frank" (or "Mony") was born July 2, 1908, and call Worcester, Massachusetts, his home. He enlisted in the Coast Artillery from High School in 1925. He served continuously through all grades in the Coast Artillery, Infantry, and Air Corps, transferring to that branch in 1932. He received a Reserve Commission in 1937, entering on active duty in 1940 as a second lieutenant. In 1942, he became
