Adjutant General for the III TAC where he served until 1944 when he became a student at the Command and General Staff School. Upon graduation, he was selected as a student in the AAF Staff Course, during which he received airborne training with paratroops and amphibious training with the Navy. In January, 1945, he became Executive AG of the Ninth Air Force (Europe), and became AG in May 1945. He was later appointed AG, US Air Forces in Europe after first working with the Air Forces Group in preparing a history of Air Operations during World War II. Returning to the US in 1947, he was appointed Assistant to the Vice Commander, First Air Force and, during the period November 1948 to July 1949, was Comptroller of that Air Force. His proposed assignment is Comptroller, Air Proving Ground Command, Elgin AFB, Florida. Frank's hobbies are tennis, bridge, and writing. His wife, Mildred (Millie) is from Stamford, Connecticut. He has one child, Bill, aged 19 months.

"Jimmy" was born in London on June 14, 1904; his home is at Sanderstead, Surry, England. (Telephone Sanderstead 2129, if you are ever near). Was educated at Whitgift School, Croydon, 1919-1926. Joined No. 600 (City of London) Squadron, Auxiliary AF, in 1931, but obliged to resign, on medical grounds, before completing flying training. Joined RAF Civilian Wireless Reserve, 1938. Commissioned, RAF Volunteer Reserve, February 1939. Directorate of Intelligence, Air Ministry, September 1939 - August 1940; with No. 80 (Signals) Wing, RAF (the unit which operated the anti-Luftwaffe RCM defences of the UK), August 1940-February 1941; at RAF's main monitoring station, part of time as Commanding Officer; during this time (and as an outcome of Pearl Harbor) visited the USA and Canada as the RAF member of an interservice communications intelligence mission; was Chief Signals Intelligence Officer, Mediterranean Allied Air Forces, March 1943 - March 1945; graduated from 24th General Staff Class, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, August 1945; Chief Signals Officer, British Forces, Aden, October 1945 - May 1946 graduated from RAF radar school, Cranwell, October 1946; commanded a Wing at RAF Central Signals Establishment, Watton, Norfolk, November 1946 - December 1947; graduated from RAF Staff College, July 1948; was in Directorate of Signals, Air Ministry until coming to the AWC; assigned as Chief Signals Officer, RAF Malta, upon leaving Maxwell Field. His hobbies are radio (has held "Ham" radio call sign G6SM since 1926), swimming (was an RAF interservice representative 1946, 1947, and 1948), photography, music, and beer (British varieties). His wife, Gwynedd (Gyn) is from Sanderstead, Surrey, and his children are Prudence (13 years) and Bill (9 1/2 years).
