out his technical schooling at Lowry Field in 1940. In 1941, he was with Northrup's circus which did the pioneer mapping and charting work in Alaska and Western Canada. In February 1942, he took a passuer at the SWPA with the 8th Reconnaissance Squadron. In 1943, he was in NATO where he commanded the Mediterranean Allied Photographic Reconnaissance which was the NATO, MTO, and MEA reconnaissance service. Returning to the U.S. in February 1945, he went to Okinawa in March as G-2 Air of the 10th Army. At the end of the campaign he moved to the Mariannas with Hq, USSTAF, PAC where he stayed until 2 September. Pop's hobbies are gold, fishing hunting, barbecuing and eating. His wife Helen is from Watsonville, California. Child is Karl (age 8).

ROBERT J. PUGH, COLONEL, USAF, 1629A

"Bob" was born 23 March 1941 at Mt. Vernon, Missouri which he still calls his home. He graduated from the University of Iowa 1 June 36 and commissioned a 2nd Lt. of Infantry Reserve. Immediately after graduation he was ordered to active duty with the regular army under the provisions of the Thomason Act. After serving one year duty with the 3rd Infantry at Ft. Shelling, Minnesota, he was ordered to CCC duty in the Minnesota District and stayed on this duty until August of 1940. He then proceeded to Ft. Sam Houston, Texas for duty with the 23rd Inf. where he remained until March 1942 when he transferred to the Army Air Corps. After transfer to the Army Air Corps he was ordered to Miami Beach, Fla. where he served with the Technical Training Command as A-1 of the 5th District. In August of 1942 he was ordered to duty with the 14th AF in China and remained there until May of 45 serving as Chief of Staff on the Forward Echelon 14th AF in East China and Executive Officer of the 68th Composite wing. After returning to the United States he served as Deputy Chief and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Personnel Distribution Command for one year and then was ordered to Panama for duty with the Caribbean Air Command in August of 1946. He returned to the United States in June of 1949 to attend the Air War College. His assignment after completion of school is Chief of Staff, Headquarters Command, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. Bob's hobbies are golf, fishing and gardening. His wife Jane is from Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Bob and Jane have two boys Bill (age 11) and Larry (age 8).

"Chick" was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on 7 Dec. 1914. Love for things mechanical led him to a BS degree in Mech. Engineering from the Univ. of Rochester, N.Y. in 1936. He was a recipient of a Genessee and State Scholarship. Joining the Naval Aviation Cadet Program, he received his wings and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the Marines in 1937. He first served in a S.E. dive bombing sqdn. at Quantico, Va., then attended the Basic School for Marine Officers, Philadelphia, Pa.
