Dear Mr. Seligman:

Thank you for your letter of January 13th and the illustration of the painting by George Braque. This appeals to me very much but I regret that it seems out of the question to make a purchase of this sort at the present time.

Consequently I would not suggest that the painting be sent here. However I do expect to be in New York in the relatively near future and would like to come in and see it at that time.

In the meantime you might let me know whether you would like to have the photograph returned or whether I might keep it here in my files.
