Messrs. Jacques Seligmann & Co.,
705 Fifth Avenue,
New York.

Gentlemen:-

I am emptying my New York house, and the French works of art which I have I do not care to use in the country and desire to dispose of when opportunity offers.

Under this category come the two busts by MARIN, which I purchased from the late Mr. Seligmann. At the time of his death I was arranging with him to sell them back to him and had an interview with him just a few months before he died in the presence of one of his sons in Paris regarding that matter.

I believe I paid 250,000 Francs for these busts in 1920 and in 1923 Mr. Seligmann wrote me a letter offering to repurchase them for 200,000 Francs. Of course, the value of the Franc has changed materially since that time, but inasmuch as you would undoubtedly handle these pieces of statuary in New York and not in Paris, if you cared to renew this offer at this time in dollar figures, I Would be very glad to re-sell them to you.

Very truly yours,
