Dear Mr.Seligmann:

Please do not think that I am in the least upset by your letter offering to buy so many pictures. Instead I am flattered that you [[strikethrough]] shoul [[/strikethrough]] should like them so much and think them so saleable. Some day I may be obliged to sell them but not yet. As a matter of fact the Art Institute will eventually get most of them. The blue Picasso I have promised to my son, later to be passed on to the Museum. I just don't want to part with any of them.

If you are interested in the little pink and blue Bonard,I would be willing to sell it. As to price,I suggest that you make me an offer which I will take into consideration and decide whether I would rather have the picture or the money. The Derain is also definitely for sale but you say you don't want that---Pierre Matisse seems at this moment to be bringing him to the fore again. It seems to me mine is a brilliant and saleable sketch but I have grown tired of it which is true of none of the rest of the pictures except insignificant ones which just move to the attic.

Very sincerely yours
