I have a painting entered in the National Academy Annual which is at MS. Budwarth & Son awaiting their delivery. I realize that it is seldom that such a painting would pass a jury because I am an amateure and not known nor have I been exhibited often. The painting had won first prize at the local Big Bend Art Exhibit. Perhaps I feel rather too consciously the difference between amateur and professional because I have not "contested" very much. The only similar endeavor I have compeated in has been rodeo. And there is a vast difference to be sure.

"I wonder if there are artists connected with your galleries who would like to teach in our soroundings during the months of August or September. The first choice has been given to Mr. Xavier Gonzalez but prehaps you know of others."
