I have the honor to communicate to YourExcellency that the Board of Directors of this Association approved at its last meeting a vote of congratulations for the successful outcome of the attempt of crossing the Atlantic so bouldly carried out by Lieutenant Read. This crossing will surely mark a new epoch for new and daring undertakings of great importance for the future development of worldly communications.
