Shrouded in plaid blanket, Pondo Princess (r.) was escorted to wedding by brothers, later threw spear (l.) in ancient ceremony symbolic of intent to marry.

After typical African wedding, Pondo Princess and Gaika Prince were married again in English clothes and according to Christian custom.
