The International Ladies Benevolent Society held a luncheon meeting at the American Club on Friday, February 11 to discuss plans for their Annual Cherry Blossom Ball, the date of which has been set for April 14. The event will be held at the Nikkatsu Family Club located in the Nikkatsu Theatre Building. Ticket sale will be limited to space capacity.

As the name implies, the Society is made up of women from various parts of the world. These women have worked together on various activities to obtain funds which have been given to institutions such as Dr. Takagi's Crippled Children's Hospital, St. Hilda's Home for the Aged and other charities.

Ball are to be given to the Don Bosco Day Nursery, which takes care of 300 children between the ages of three and six. All the mothers of these children work. Therefore, it is essential to have such a nursery to take care of the young ones between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Society is planning to build a second floor addition to the nursery with the proceeds realized by the Cherry Blossom Ball. This additional floor will enable the nursery to take care of infants and children up to the age of three. The nursery is located in Mikawashima in Tokyo.
