THESE ARE THE

In the early months of the Korean War few organizations of the Far East Command had the time or personnel to keep normal records. The Pacific Stars and Stripes received many drawings and cartoons from readers and, unfortunately were unable to maintain adequate index files for all the materials we received.

In numerous instances, cartoons were offered on which the artists had written only their last name, a pen name or a first name. Also, quite regularly, anonymous contributions arrived. Therefore, the list below is incomplete.

The units accompanying the names were those to which the artists were attached when their work was received by us. In many cases the men have been rotated to the United States, or transferred to other organizations. Some of them have been casualties. To all of them, we are indebted for their cheerful and voluntary contributions and we now would like to thank them for the important contribution they have made to the Pacific Stars and Stripes.
