NEGRO GENERAL
 WASHINGTON- Son of only Negro ever to attain rank of general in the Army, Col. Benjamin Oliver Davis Jr. follows in father's footsteps. Davis, 46, becomes first Negro general in the Air Force by President Eisenhower's promotion order. His temporary rank is brigadier general, the same held by his father on retirement.
