November 26, 1954

Dear General Davis:

I have just noted your promotion to the grade of Brigadier General and wish to offer my congratulation. You have well earned and well deserved this recognition and it gives me great pleasure. I wish I had the address of your father, as I would like to write to him also. I know how much pride and pleasure he will take in your promotion.

Since my retirement in 1947 I have watched your service to the extent that I could from press reports and information in the aviation magazines and published orders. It is quite clear you have continued to set the high standard of service which I saw you render in the four years in the Mediterranean Theater.

If you come through Los Angeles at any time, I am in the telephone book and nothing would give me more pleasure than to see you again and get together for lunch or dinner.

At your earliest opportunity please extend my best wishes to your remarkable father.

With every good wish for your continued good health, success and happiness.

Sincerely,
