You will worry to hear that Edward had a very bad fall from his horse on Saturday. They were hunting, and Edward was thrown over the horse's head, who struck him as he came down. By a miracle, it seems that he was saved from a dangerous blow on the head, and might easily have been killed. Fortunately, he struck his head on the hardest spot, and it had to be sown up. He also had a fearful swelling, and a black eye, the worst I have ever seen, and he is badly bruised. He has to be perfectly quiet, and be in bed for several days. Now he can sit up for a few hours. They were a little bit afraid of what they call a cerebral hemorrhage, because he spitted a lot of blood which came down from his head. That seems to have gone by, and there is every indication that he will be quite alright again very soon. He has been a saint, and is making an extraordinarily good patient, considering how active and strong he is.

We have had wonderful days here, and a terrible rainstorm as well. Yesterday, it seems as though the very heavens had burst, it rained so, and there seemed no end.

Tomorrow evening is the great Suffrage parade. Think of it, we have won four States in the referendum for suffrage! Arizona, Michigan, Washington, and Kansas. It is coming close to us, and if the Democrats in New York State are on the square,
