Then a dear little girl of about ten or twelve played most beautifully on the violin and some of the others sang. Altogether it was a great success and I believe it going to be a great thing out in that new factory district.

But that did not finish my Saturday. From that celebration I went over to the garment cutters' ball. There I led as second couple with Mr. J. E. Williams the third man of the Board of Arbitration for the garment workers of the Hart, Schaffner & Marx employes. This was a very gay affair and I was presented with a very beautiful bunch on white roses, the cutters declaring that I had led them out of the wilderness at the time of the strike and now I must lead with them in their gay march of celebration.

Long after midnight I found my way home and was mighty glad to get to bed after such a strenuous day.

We have been having most exciting times about the Calumet copper strike situation, but I must tell you of that in my next letter. This one is growing into a book!

Heart's love,
