Franklinton N.C.
Sept the 29th 1869

Capt H. Hillebrandt
Raleigh N.C.

Capt:
In your letter of Agust the 26th directed to Mr Purnell through myself, you said that in the event of Haywood Thomas' refusal to take the money adjudged to be due him by me, in the matter investigated, and decided by yourself, I would be ordered to deposit the same in the Asst Com's office at Raleigh. I have been awaiting such an order, and the reason for this letter, is, that I have thought you may have deemed your last letter (of the 26' Agt) an order for me to deposit the money in question at Raleigh I am ready to settle the matter, and would be glad to hear from you.

Yours obediently
