General In reply to your communication of the 6th inst I have the honor to state that the three Col'd boys, David, Charles and John, are hired to Mr P M Edmundson, by one John Sturdevant who is their uncle. David and Charles receive each $75 00 for the year. John receives his victuals and clothes. They receive their wages themselves, & are represented as being opposed to returning to Mr Young. they left him for the reason that they could do better than to remain there.
