Col. W.H. Weigel

Colonel

I have received additional evidence in the case of Quash Whitefeild (freed) and have every reason to believe that he was murdered. A freedman named Washington Hicks lives at Newbern is supposed to have been with Quash when the affair took place By summoning him to your office he will be able to give some information

If you are not able to send me troops until morrow? they are not needed until Monday, as two of the parties leave the plantation every Saturday and not return until Monday morning. Next week the County Court will be in session here I would be very thankful for a copy of the act of Congress making a law the Bureau I never had the opportunity to read the act In case some joint argument arises I shall not be able to show my authority. Circular No- Feb. 16-1866 Raleigh N.C. is the only one defines our position. Has some proviso been made for rations for the sick. The doctor awaiting for it. their number increases daily
