Colonel Harrington Introduced at Party
Tokyo society turned out en masse Tuesday evening at the University Club, FEAF Officers Open Mess, at a cocktail party to bed farewell to the outgoing Air Attache of the American Embassy and Mrs. William A. Larsen and to bid welcome to the new Air Attache and Mrs. Robert Harrington.

Though hearts were sad to see the popular Larsens depart this beautiful island county, all those meeting the Harringtons immediately felt a kindred spirit to these two very personable people. Mrs. Harrington, lovely and gracious, and Colonel Harrington, jovial and friendly, will be fine additions to our lively community. 

Among the several hundred guests present we saw the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Sir Esler Dening, the Australian Ambassador and Mrs. Edward Ronal Walker, the Chinese Ambassador and Mrs. Hollington Tong, the Belgian Ambassador Chevalier Guy de Schoutheete de Tervarent, The Turkish Ambassador and Mrs. Izzet Aksalur, the Netherlands Ambassador and Mrs. O. Ruechlin. Animatedly talking with an interesting group were Mrs. Carlos Quiros and her daughter, Miss Jacqueline Quiros. The Charge d'Affaires of the Brazilian Embassy, Mr. Heitor Bastos Tigre without his beautiful Vera who had remained at home to receive an overseas call from Rio. Another young man without his wife was First Secretary of the Canadian Embassy, Mr. R.L. Rogers. Dr. and Mrs. Albrecht Magnus were receiving congratulations on behalf of their daughter who is taking the lead in the Tokyo Amateur Dramatic Club's forthcoming production "Sabrina Fair."

In various groups were: the British MInister and Mrs. H.N. Brain, Brigadier and Mrs. R.D. Neville, Captain and Mrs. F.P. Baker. Group Captain and Mrs. S.S. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Svend E. Lyster, Mr. and Mrs. K.G. Buck, Mr. and mrs. Rud. Thogerson, Commander and Mrs. Lucien Lamour, Colonel and Mrs. N.K. Chatterji, Colonel Dante Bonficacio, Captain and Mrs. J.A.L. Muller and their daughter, Miss tine Muller, Mrs. A.S. Halford without her husband who has been confined to home with a severe cold, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs. H. Vere Redman, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Blythe, Mr. E.A. Close. Receiving many congratulations for his excellent poetry readings at the Monday Meeting of the Tokyo Women's Club was Mr. W.R. McAlpine with his equally talented wife.
