Translation of the note

During his tour of duty in the defence of Taiwan in co-operation with the Chinese armed forces, Gen Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. has made a great contribution to CAF along the lines of training and combat etc, especially in giving us encouragement and assistance in our logistical service so as to bring forth our deep gratitude to him.

As Gen Davis is returning to the States for reassignment, this well-mounted scroll-an old painting of the Ming Dynasty-is dedicated to him as a memento for his good co-operation with us.
