purpose of the Museum; and

(g) consult with and advise the Director of the Museum on annual budgets to be recommended to the Board of Regents and otherwise consult with, advise, and support the Director in the operation of the Museum.

The Board of Trustees shall designate a chairman from among its members; adopt bylaws to carry out its functions; and report annually to the Board of Regents on matters within its discretion. 

(8) The initial Board of Trustees shall be composed of twenty-five members as follows: (a) the Secretary of the Institution and an Assistant Secretary, who shall serve as [[underlined]] ex officio [[/underlined]] members; (b) fifteen members of the Board of Trustees of the Heye Foundation; and (c) eight other members appointed by the Board of Regents. Those members serving under clauses (b) and (c) shall serve a three-year term. Successors to those members of the Board of Trustees serving under clauses (b) and (c) shall be appointed by the Board of Regents from a slate nominated by the Board of Trustees which shall include in its nominations American Indians and Alaska Natives and scholars in the fields of American Indian history and culture.
