Sketched Bacon's bridge in the morning. Atmosphere too clear.

Lunch at Miss Patten's. It is too sudden a change from out of doors & nature - to a lunch party of girls. One feels a little out of place.

Miss Nurse - who accepts and thrusts upon other's observance, her role of "young old maid" with irritating complacency.

Gertrude Kimball - Negative in every respect.

Mary Saulom - Practical, inquisitive & gossipy, with only the commonest insights, and no delicacy in any respect.
