In my studio I was struck by my portrait [[strikethrough]] which [[/strikethrough]] of Miss Marvin which really looked lovely; I hastened away before I could have time to change my mind, clutching a letter from Alice that I had gone up to find.

All good things come together!

"Au petit bonheur", as Alice writes. Enjoy the day & do not spoil it by too much sage reflection -

Par example - My picture, framed of the willows, disgusts me! So weak! More frame than picture.

Read Alice's letter to Aunty which always pains me dreadfully. What is pleasing to me is doomed to be pain to her. It is fearful.
