Oct 26 Painted Mrs. Tyler.

Among the Realmah proverbs "To the cat her teeth, to the vulture his claws, to the snake its venom, and to mankind, calumny each has its weapon." A saying that must force itself on anyone who has lived at all, as most a truthful description of society. It is startling to hear [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] vile reports about a person whose purity of character is a thing as plain as the sunshine to yourself and at the same time realize how important is any [[strikethrough]] sincere [[/strikethrough]] combatting such rumour. Rumour is about as good currentcy as a solid fact and just about as much harm.

Doctor put cocaine in my eye and it dilated the pupil so that I could not paint the next day although I [[strikethrough]] got [[/strikethrough]] did not get the whole [[chit?]] as it fell out before it was wholly melted.
