EXPLORER POST 91

Explorer Post 91 had its official beginning on April 30, 1955; but for more than a year before, this post had existed as a crew in the Boy Scout Troop. In this capacity, the Explorers took a 220 mile bicycle trip down the West coast of Taiwan from Taipei to Kaohsiung, and went on a three day hike into scenic Taroko Gorge. Following these big events and many smaller ones, the "Crew" finally became a separate unit, Post 91. The membership increased almost immediately. The new members were lured by the prospect of having a great time, especially after hearing the future schedule. In the making were; a three day hike across the island from Taichung to Ilan, a trip to Japan for three days to camp with Explorers from Japan, Okinawa, and Guam, social events including a big formal Valentine's dance, and many activities appealing to boys fourteen years old and over. During these eventful occasions, the Post grew and developed until nearly 15 boys were registered.

For boys of high school age who like social and outdoor activities, for those who like to look ahead in the field of vocational exploration, and also for those willing to perform services to others, Exploring offers a grand opportunity.
