A WALK IN THE MOONLIGHT
by Charles Mok, Sixth Grade

As I walk to the sea in the moonlight,
To the quiet and lonely sea.
The moon is round and so bright,
And it happily shines on me.

The sky is so quiet and clear,
The birds happily singing in the trees,
The wind is fluttering far and near
Gently kissing the flowers and leaves.

I walk to the sea in the moonlight
To the quiet and lonely sea.
The stars are so bright tonight
That I hear God calling to me.

ARMY TRAVELS
Anonymous, Seventh Grade

Though our fathers travel far and wide
With their family by their side;
Though we travel to beautiful Rome,
Sometimes we would like to be at home sweet home.

Though we cross broad oceans,
Mothers with diapers and baby lotions,
Then weary they say, "This is the end."
Kids reply, "Oh well, we will meet new friends."

Though what we have seen and where we have been would fill a book,
Right now I would like to have another look,
At the good old shores of the U.S.A.
When I get back I am going to stay.

HELEN KELLER
by Deborah Huang, Seventh Grade

Helen Keller, a famous writer,
Was blind and deaf and mute.
Her teacher taught her how to hear,
Although she couldn't use her ear.

She would have been so very glad,
If only she could see --
The water, the sky, the birds, and trees.
She never would any happier be.

So we are lucky we can see
The whole world all around us.
And talk and hear so clearly
Which Helen wanted to do so dearly.
