TAIPAI (UP) -- Brig. Gen. Benjamin O. Davis, top American Air Force commander in Formosa, told the Chinese press Monday the joint Sino-American Air Force in the area is fully equipped to meet any invasion.

The commander of the 13th Air Task Force said he believed the American and Chinese air units in Formosa are sufficient to defend the island bastion.

Davis said the teamwork between the Chinese and the American Air Force and Vice Adm. Alfred M. Pride's Seventh Fleet in the Formosan Strait "is swell."

He said the U.S. jet squadron, based on the island, is making familiarization flights all the time and is under constant rotation.
