2 MAAGLINER July 1955

MAAGLINER
THE MAAGOOM MONTHLY NEWSPAPER
EDITOR: JEAN DEES
ASS'T ED: MARY ANN MCNAMARA

LETTER FROM EDITOR
Greetings! the paper is out though we though we'd never make it. It's a large order to try to fill the shoes of Betty and Pete Weddle who made the "Maagliner" such a success. This month also many of the "seasoned" journalists either left for home or are getting ready to leave. Their absence left terrifying gaps in the staff at the paper. I sincerely wish to thank the assistant editor, Mary Ann McNamara and all the new members of the staff for seeing this first attempt through so loyally.

Reporters are urgently needed for the Maagliner." Anyone who is interested in writing even an occasional article for the paper, please drop your name and phone number in the "Maagliner" box next to the phone booth in the MAAGOOM lobby. Also, any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Jean Dees,
Editor

Hit Tune From Signal Section Aloha Party

After much persuasion the wives of Signal Section Officers have released the words to the tune which accompanied them in their now famous hula performed at the Army Section Party in May.

This is sung to the tune of "I Wanna Go Back to My Little Grass Shack".

I wanna go back to my little brick shack on beautiful Formosa.
I wanna be with all the water buffalo I knew so long ago.
I wanna hear the doodle and rice man as he peddles it all over town.
And the honey wagon driver is a nice man, tho the scents he dispenses are offensive to my senses.
I can't wait for that wobbly MATS crate to take me back to Taipei.
To the Po-Ai, Omea or Liberty House my home away from home.
I'm just a homesick "maggot",
All I do is sit and cry
I wanna go back where the skirts are slit so high
Then I wanna go back to my little brick shack on beautiful Formosa,
Where the typoon is tyhooning and the full moos in fullmooning in the sky.
