Secretary, Smithsonian Institution [[/underlined]] (discrimination on the basis of handicap/reprisal) - Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on August 11, 1988, by a management assistant in the Smithsonian's management analysis office. Judgement in favor of the Smithsonian was entered in June 21, 1989. Notice of appeal was filed by the plaintiff with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and a responsive Motion for Summary Affirmance was filed by the United States Attorney, who is representing the Institution.

Rogers Electric Company [[/underlined]] (counterclaim by subcontractor sued by the U.S. for improper storage/disposal of PCBs) - Filed in February 1989 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland under the comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act for reimbursement of or Contribution to any costs for which the defendant may be held liable. Discovery is under way. No Smithsonian involvement has been identified to date.
