° A computer system has been selected and installation will began within the next 30 days;

° A diverse program of special events is unfolding under the guidance of Susannah Kellems, Assistant Campaign Director for Public Relations and Special Events:

  ► A "Writers' Dialogue on Communications" consultation with 17 non-fiction authors was convened by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and member of the NMAI Board of Trustees, N. Scott Momaday, in San Diego on July 25-26;

  ► A committee of volunteers in Aspen, Colorado sponsored a full weekend of activities as a benefit for the Museum on August 23-25;

  ► A reception will be held in New York City on September 26 for New York area members of the Museum and other dignitaries of the City and State; 

  ► A fund-raising event will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, in mid-October to coincide with a speech to be given by the Museum's Director to Alaskan Federation of Natives;

° Major proposals have been submitted to two national foundations, and action is anticipated before the end of the calendar year. 

Planned Campaign Activities

The National Campaign staff is looking forward to fiscal year 1992 and to the continued expansion and productivity of its program, especially the following:

° recruiting and training the International Founders Council, the Campaign's primary volunteer leadership group;
