WISEMAN PLAYING PACIFIC COAST

Seattle, Wash., May 16. - Fred J. Wiseman, the well-known West coast aviator, has been more than making good on his exhibition tour under the management of Charles L. Young. His most spectacular performance was at Snohomish, Wash., on Sunday, May 7, when he flew before 5,000 people in the rain. The crowd was very enthusiastic and many of the people had come several miles, taking advantage of the special train service inaugurated for the event.

On May 13 and 14 he flew at the State Fair at Yakima with an audience of 7,000 people. The first day, Saturday, he executed two pretty flights. The next day was marked by a long flight over North Yakima, at the end of which he alighted in the somewhat cramped field to shatter his forward elevator against a fence. The damage was quickly repaired and in 30 minutes he was again in the air, landing this time squarely in the center of the inclosure with perfect case.

He has a great number of bookings to fill during the next two months, among them Ellensburg, May 16, and Olympia, May 18. The old adage, "practice makes perfect," seems borne out by this young flier's example, for he shows marked improvement with each appearance.

Fred J. Wiseman.
This is the aviator's "nying face," his eyes focused for simultaneous snapshots of clouds, sun, trees, ponds, houses, telephone poles, and other things, and his ears attuned to the exploding of the motor.
