'RIGOLETTO' AT WOODMINSTER
"Rigoletto," Verdi's four-act opera to be presented at Woodminster amphitheater, Joaquin Miller Park, Saturday evening, will be conducted by Arturo Casiglia, director of the Pacific Opera Company.

"Rigoletto" will feature many [[young?]] singers, among them Harold [[?ed]] in the title role; Lina Gastoni, 30 year-old San Francisco coloratura soprano as Gilda, and Imogene [[?rnwell]] as Maddalena.

Reserved seats for this second [[era?]] to be presented at Woodminster Amphiteater, sponsored by the [[?kland]] board of park directors, on sale at Sherman, Clay & Co. [[box?]] office, Broadway at Hobart, and Woodminster the evening of the performance.

Coast Guard League lans[?] Celebration

Local members of the U.S. Coast Guard League will take part in a [[?nce]] and entertainment to celebrate the 157th anniversary of the Coast Guard tomorrow at San Francisco's Scottish Rite Auditorium.

During the evening the first formal presentation of World War II Victory Medals to coastguardsmen [[in?]] the 12th District will be made to officers of the league by Admiral W. K. Scammell.

'Ice Follies' Shun Amateurs

"There isn't an amateur skater in the world who could 'steal the limelight' in the Ice Follies" according to Roy Shipstad, ace ice star.

He says "professional skating has taken huge strides forward and while amateur skating also has moved ahead, the latter hasn't produced an individual capable of dominating the 'Ice Follies.'"

The show is now in its eleventh season and being presented every night and Sunday matinees at Winterland.

Berkeley Film Group To Present Twin Bill

Rudolph Valentino's 1925 classic, "The Eagle," will be double-billed with "Adventures of Chico," Mexican prize-winning film, tonight at the Berkeley Film Society. The program will be presented at the Anna Head School, 2537 Haste Street, Berkeley, with showings at 7:15 and 9:15 p.m.

The first quarterly series of twelve weekly programs will be announced as well as types of memberships available. There is no admission charge.
