General view of the ceremonies at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., as the "Kitty Hawk," the original Wright Brothers' aeroplane, was officially presented to the American people by a representative of the Orville Wright estate. A label placed on the plane will give the Wright Brothers full credit for discovering the principles of flight. Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis," can be seen in the background.
