Taxidea taxus nevadensis

Badgers are scarce but Vernon Mills says he has released about 25 from his coyote traps this year. Had to kill a few with broken legs.
The fur is still short and they are worth only a dollar or two now.
Later in winter prime "silver badger" will bring 16 to 30 dollars.
Most of those seeen are brown with short stripe but considerably paler than the California badgers.
They are greatly needed and should be protected to eat citellus mallis which is abundant and destructive.
