Went to Trinity Park 320 acres of fine old forest in the edge of the city, full of big old oaks, pecans, ash, hackberry, elm, cottonwood osage orange, and native vines and shrubs.

Many fox squirrels are very tame, now feeding on hackberry seeds.

Two little half grown cottonrats came out of the myrtle vines in the park and ate green crab grass, big ears moving like rabbit ears.
