Ringtails are abundant in the canyons west of the Pecos on Loyd Ligons ranch and all the surrounding canyons
Their tracks are seen in almost every little cave and in the trails and dusty spots
We caught one the first night in a No. 1 Verbail trap and got good photos. She was a nursing female and we turned her loose with a supply of food and water to last a week.

They are feeding on grasshoppers, beetles and insects because the woodrats and cliff mice are all gone.
