[[underlined]] April 29 [[/underlined]] South Canyon

Wendell and I went up South Canyon as far as the old forestry road was passable and nearly to the spring at head of Canyon where the water is piped down to the ranger station, 3 or 4 miles, up in [[strikethrough]] where [[/strikethrough]] the firs and aspens.

Went over the Coxcomb saddle through a valley of big yellow pines where watering places are provided for cattle and along the pipeline.

Found a 3 or 4 days-old lion track in road a quarter of a mile above the ranger station
Set a lion trap there and 3 coyote traps on the way up.
