Monuments and up both Monument and De Chelly canyons

The monument is double, the higher point about 800 feet high and we look down on it from 200 feet above.

A lot of Douglas spruce grows along the shady slopes high up where the sun never shines. Cottonwoods grow along the bottom. A few yellow pines grow on top but mostly nut pines and junipers.

Came back through Chin Lee and camped about 10 miles north in Chin Lee Valley on the edge of Monument Park some 4 miles south of the big flat topped monument that we camped north of in 1935?
