TOPPING CHECK

1. PUT 29.92 IN ALT. AND ESTABLISH LEVEL FLIGHT AT 2000 FT.

2. PLACE SPEED CONTROL LEVER OF ENGINE TO BE TOPPED FULL FORWARD.

3. PLACE SPEED CONTROL LEVER OF OTHER ENGINE IN GROUND IDLE.

4. GRADUALLY INCREASE COLLECTIVE PITCH USING NG AND T5 OF ENGINE NO LONGER INCREASE OR ONE OF THE FOLLOWING OCCURS:

a. T5 IS 718-727°C
b. NG IS 100%
c. Q IS 118%

5. WHEN NG OR T5 NO LONGER INCREASES, INCREASE COLLECTIVE UNTIL NR DROPS 1-2%. HOLD THIS CONDITION, BUT DO NOT EXCEED NG OR T5 LIMITS, FOR [[underlined]] 2 MINUTES [[/underlined]] TO LET ENGINE STABILIZE.

6. IF NG OR T5 IS TOO HIGH HAVE CREW CHIEF TURN REMOTE TOPPING DOWN BELOW AND THEN BACK UP TO DESIRED LIMIT.
